Declan’s Japanese Flashcards is a great way to practice your Japanese, but it isn’t a complete Learn Japanese program. The basis of the software is using audio clips of native speakers coupled with vocabulary flashcards to learn and retain the words. While Declan Flashcards are a useful way to learn Japanese vocabulary, it doesn’t help you learn Japanese grammar or conversation skills.
Declan Flashcards are easy to use because there are only a few different exercises to choose from. Some use a series of multiple choice quizzes with various hints while others use matching exercises. The audio clips for each word help with listening comprehension and even pronunciation. Declan Flashcards don’t get any more complicated than that. There are no images, videos or culture lessons. But what it does, it does well, and you’ll be able to improve your Japanese vocabulary easily with Declan Flashcards.
Because of the flashcard setup, Declan Flashcards will never be a complete learning experience. Instead, it is an excellent way to supplement a Japanese class because it allows you to practice a lot of words quickly. You may not get fluent with Declan Flashcards alone, but it can be an invaluable aid for your word recognition and retention.
